Pre-Grima
o In this timeline most of the events up to the battle with Validar are the same, except Lucina is not present. Emmeryn is assassinated instead of sacrifices herself and the fates of certain other characters are different. Overall it is the same.
o The battle with Validar (which most likely takes place a few years later in Lucina’s timeline than in the main timeline) ends with Robin killing Chrom, becoming Grima and stealing the Fire Emblem.
Future Past
Character Personality:
Lucina grew up in a post-apocalyptic world plagued by armies of zombies commanded by an ancient god-dragon. As the princess of the last remaining kingdom, her parents having died early on, and possessing the blood of ancient heroes that made her the only hope to defeat the dragon, she had tremendous responsibility and expectations thrust upon her at a young age. She had to swallow her feelings so that she could lead the remains of her kingdom and her friends to fight the hoard zombies.
Despite the responsibility placed on her and the stakes against her, Lucina never gives up hope. She possesses an indomitable will that got her and her comrades through years of endless battles. Her will and charisma are integral to why she leads so naturally and skillfully. She fought to save her world until she and her companions were corned and forced to rely on their last resort: invading the nations already under Grima’s command to steal from him the Fire Emblem and the five jewels that would give Lucina the power to slay him.
While she is a princess, her friends’ commander, and talented, Lucina is humble to the point of being insecure. She does not consider anyone else to be less than herself and does not see herself as particularly special. She assists everyone in the army with any task no matter how menial it is (she shops for groceries, hands out soup at meal time, and helps carry boxes) or how they try to dissuade her from doing anything so lowly. She cares for everyone around her and would gladly give her life to protect others despite her being integral to the fate of the world.
She continually compares herself to her father, the previous leader of their kingdom, and his legacy left her feeling inadequate. She will somehow find fault in most things she does, but will nonetheless put in her full effort. Her admiration and adoration for her father is a double-edged sword in this regard, as it is what makes her feel so inadequate but also motivates her to improve. The fact that this Lucina never went into the past to meet her father means her image of him is even more tainted with bias.
Being from a post-apocalyptic zombie world and a princess commanding an army from a young age, Lucina has several personality quirks as a result of such a strange childhood. Firstly, she has no sense of fashion; this is likely due to a combination of needing to dress practically and for combat at all times as well as never having the free time to do such things in the future. Secondly, her permanently stoic behavior has made her so serious that she has difficulty noticing jokes and tends to take most things literally.
AU Information:
Lucina is being taken from a canonical alternate universe within Fire Emblem: Awakening known as The Future Past. In it, the Holy Dragon Naga does not possess the power to send Lucina and her friends back into the past to prevent the rise of the Fell Dragon Grima and the zombie apocalypse. Instead, Lucina and her small group of friends decide to collect the items necessary to defeat Grima despite the odds being stacked against them.
This universe is also one in which the characters continually make decisions that they did not in the original universe that lead to doomed situations: for example, one group in the main timeline decides against camping in a particular area while in the Future Past timeline they decide to and are killed.
The Naga of the main universe (although it is sort of hinted that it is the one same Naga presiding over all continuities and in this bad end world her influence has simply been hindered, but it’s vague) lacks the power to send this Lucina back in time and instead sends the characters from the main timeline to strategic points in the doomed timeline to alter its conclusion.
In the end, Lucina performs the ritual to wield Naga’s evil-destroying and dragon-killing powers in her sword Falchion, possesses the titular Fire Emblem, and in place of her father kills Grima. She becomes the Exalt and Queen of Yllise. She begins the process of rebuilding the world and cleaning out the remaining zombies (‘Risen’) that are shambling around but lacking Grima’s control.
In this universe, this Lucina does not meet her father (she meets his incarnation from the main timeline, but only for a moment during battle), does not meet Robin (who becomes Grima), and is the one shouldered with the responsibility of rebuilding a world. She has more responsibilities at the end of the war than main timeline Lucina does while also having much less closure regarding the deaths of her parents and Robin’s betrayal when possessed by Grima. She also encounters Morgan in this world as a subordinate to Grima and her enemy, whereas in the main timeline she does not and Morgan is one of her friends.
Character Abilities:
Lucina’s powers and abilities depend in part on who her mother is. I generally default to and prefer Sumia, so her skills will reflect that.
- Skilled with swords and lances.
- Aether: A powerful and difficult technique that combines the powers of the skills Sol and Luna in two strikes; Lucina is capable of launching one strike that heals herself in proportion to the damage to the target and then a second powerful strike that ignores defense.
- Rightful King: A signature ability that simply makes her more adept at using her own skills. Does nothing on its own, but indicates the natural abilities inherent in her bloodline.
- Aegis and Pavise: Two abilities that allow her to effectively defend herself from both melee weapons and magic, among other things.
- Galeforce: As a game mechanic, it allows her to perform a second action if she defeats a target. Could indicate an ability to quickly change targets in battle after finishing one.
Character Inventory:
Falchion: She wields the sword Falchion, which was created from a fang from the holy dragon-god Naga. Along with being her fang, it is imbued with her power after Lucina performed a ritual. It slays dragons and destroys evil.
Fire Emblem: A sacred shield containing five jewels that helped unlock the power of the Falchion. It is the symbol of the ruler of Yllise. This, too, was forged from one of the fangs of Naga. As with Falchion, it repels evil and dragons.

Third Person Sample:
Lucina could not put her finger on just how she felt. Nervous? Worried? Anxious? No one word quite described her appropriately right now. Taken from her own world and sent to another, just as her father—no, not her father; hers was dead and forever would be—had done to assist her in that final battle against Grima.
“No, not like him.” She shook her head and somehow frowned more. From her own understanding, that Chrom had come to her world under his own choice and left as quickly as he arrived. Lucina, however, was certainly not here of her own accord and could not return under her own choice. More importantly, unlike that father of another Lucina, she did not have a purpose. She had only recently slain Grima—the Fell Dragon was gone from her world after a decade of razing it, the remaining Risen were being dispatched quickly now that they lacked any guidance, and she had finally become the true Exalt of Ylisse. She was a queen to a war-torn nation finally able to begin the process of healing, but she was not there.
Though she wondered of how much help she would be. She knew of nothing but war; maybe that was the real reason for her anxiety here. She had no purpose, but perhaps the purpose she missed was the leadership in battle and not the leadership of government. Lucina reflexively moved to squeeze the hilt of the sword that was not at her hip; Falchion was not with her and along with it was any symbol of her victory, her claim to the throne, and most importantly any reminder of her father.
